Video conference spiritual direction with the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola.

Waypoints Spiritual Direction

Navigating the Journey of Faith with the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola.

Waypoints Spiritual Direction offers digital, video-conference-based Ignatian Spiritual exercises to help you deepen your relationship with God. This confidential, one-on-one retreat is designed to enrich your prayer life and enhance your spiritual journey. We guide you through the full Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, following the 19th Annotation format, which is a 32–36-week retreat that you can integrate into your daily routine.

This retreat is particularly beneficial for those seeking a deeper connection with God, spiritual growth, and to gain tools for richer spiritual reflection.

The retreat helps the participant grow through a personally tailored discipline of daily prayer and readings and a weekly one-hour live video conference with a spiritual director. Whether you’re new to Ignatian Spirituality or looking to deepen your existing spiritual practice, Waypoints provides a safe, supportive space for transformation and renewal.

The retreat is especially helpful for those:

Wanting to draw closer to God

Seeking a deeper understanding of faith than they have experienced from their parish, church, or independent search

Seeking clarity of God’s will about an impending major decision or life change

Preparing for a specific ministry, service, or management responsibility

In active ministry: priests, deacons, pastors, social servants, and other ordained ministers including counselors, teachers, parish and church staff, among others.

Ignatian Exercises in Daily Life

Sometimes called the “Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life”, the “Ignatian Exercises in Daily Life”, or the “Ignatian Retreat in Everyday Life”, the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola help you deepen your connection with God through prayer, reflection, and discernment. By engaging with prayer, scripture, and the use of your intellect and imagination, the Exercises guide you in recognizing the movements of your heart — your feelings, desires, and inner stirrings.

Through this process, you will come to understand what Jesuits refer to as “the religious dimension of experience” in your life. The Exercises will also help you make better choices, ones that draw you closer to God, rather than choices that lead you away from God.

The very fact that you are considering the Spiritual Exercises now may be a movement of God inviting you into a deeper relationship with God.

You do not need to be Catholic to benefit from the Exercises. Many people from Protestant, Orthodox, Jewish, and other faith backgrounds — and those newly exploring the Christian faith — have found the spiritual disciplines of this retreat to be transformative.

“I am deeply grateful for the recent opportunity to experience the 19th Annotation of the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius under Tom‘s richly gifted spiritual direction.  Tom possesses a tremendous knowledge and integration of Ignatian spirituality, wisdom, prayerfulness, and an authentic presence of love and compassion.  His faithful accompaniment with me upon my journey was a constant source of encouragement, good humor and charity.  I highly recommend Tom to those discerning the 19th Annotation, seeking individual spiritual direction or considering  a seasoned, expert formation facilitator for a group retreat or parish offering.”
